300th POST!!!

I've been waiting to celebrate this - my 300th POST on blogger.

Since the One World One Heart Event is going on now, I've decided to add yet another gift giveaway in celebration of all the fun I've had blogging and meeting new bloggers.

I made this pair of earrings with Czech AB crystal flowers and a round purple swarovski crystal. I used purple to celebrate amethyst for February.

I'm having a lot of fun visiting all the ticket holders on the One World One

Heart carpet ride but it takes a lot of time. Currently there are 833 blogs to visit, I hope to visit all of them by Feb. 14. That's a lot of blog-hopping!!

Don't forget to check out my One World One Heart post... here.

Other than work, I haven't had much time to do anything else so that's all I've got for now. Celebrate with me and enjoy the flowers!

ONE WORLD ONE HEART 2010 - A Magic Carpet Ride

Welcome to my stop on the Fourth Annual One World One Heart Event. This years theme is a Magic Carpet Ride.
Lisa at A Whimsical Bohemian is once again heading this up.
This is my fourth year participating in this wonderfully fun event. From Jan. 25 through Feb. 15 people from all over the world blog hop around and meet each other. Each participant gives something away on their blog. The giveaway prize is usually hand made, many of our participants are artists from every venue imaginable, but the prize does not have to be handmade.  I'm hoping to win at LEAST 4! giveaways.  hopefull... yes,  greedy... maybe but everything is so beautiful!  it can't be wrong to want them ALL :)

My Giveaway is open to anyone having an active blog anywhere around the world. You MUST leave a comment on THIS post to be entered into my giveaway.  Last year I had over 400 comments on my OWOH post.  I am starting with 3 gift giveaways.  For every one hundred names over 300, I will add another gift giveaway.

***** NOW 4 GIFTS in my giveaway *****

Feb 14 @ 6:00 pm is the last day to leave a comment for a chance to win my gifts. I will draw the names the evening of Feb 14.
The winners names will be announced on February 15th and I will contact each winner to let you know you've won. Be sure I have a way to link back/contact you. Even if you are a blogger not hosting a OWOH giveaway yourself you are MORE THAN WELCOME to enter your name to win! If a winner does not respond to my contact by 2/21, I will draw another winner for that gift.  I actually had a couple winners last year that did not respond so I drew new winners.

If you would like so see the entire list of participants or to join in on the giveaway click on the One World One Heart Magic Carpet logo on the right to travel there.

My Blog HOME can be found Here if you would like to read more posts.

Take a peek outside and see my gifts floating on the magic carpet.
Get a little closer to the window, look quick, the wind and snow are blowing. You don't want to miss the fun.
This photo was taken from one of our favorite haunts in our historic downtown.

The first gift I am giving away is a Magical Pendulum made of antique brass with Czech glass beads and Swarovski crystals.  It hangs on a black cord 16" long.  Along with the pendulum you will receive matching earrings on silver plated earwires.

In honor of my love of reading, the second gift I am giving away is a wonderful FUN book I just finished reading .  "Casting Spells" by Barbara Bretton.  I loved this book and hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did.
The third gift I am giving away is a pair of earrings to represent OWOH.  Since the drawing is the day after Valentines day I created this pair in white, pink and red.  The earwires are silver plated.

UPDATE 1/30/10 ***
To celebrate my 300th POST on blogger I have added another gift giveaway.  A pretty pair of earrings made of crystal AB flowers and finished with purple swarovski beads.

It's so very nice to meet everyone.  I hope you enjoy the event!

Exciting Day

I love the OWOH event !   I have been a part of it for every year.  I am starting a day late and there are already 579 blogs to go visit !!!
I will definitely be doing some blog-hopping for the next two weeks.

I had to go out of town this last week which put me out of contact with my laptop.
We said good bye to George C. , 90. He was a wonderful man and touched many people with his kindnesses.

We stopped by one of our favorite watering holes yesterday to get warmed up.  Here's G waiting for a yummy bloody mary

and me warming up by their corner fireplace.

I still haven't finished my polymer clay work that I'm slowly trying to learn but I had time before we left to get a few jewelry pieces completed for the consignment shop Treasures From the Heart in Olmsted Falls, OH and Sorelle - my etsy site.

I'm so excited, I've found inspiration again.
My polymer clay has been waiting for me to come back to play for over a month now.
I just happened to hop into Cynthia Blanton's Blog and saw all her color swatches she made out of polymer clay which got my interest up.

Then she had a link to Cindy Lietz's blog which offers polymer clay video tutorials.  I watched a couple free ones and was so impressed with her explanations and hands on display that I signed up for her monthly newsletter.

After I do some cleaning and shopping today, you can find me up in my studio playing with clay !

Sew busy

I got out of bed around 7:00 this morning and it was still dark out.  There was a heavy fog and I thought I'd see Sherlock Holmes lurking about as I looked out my window.  It was a very neat atmosphere.

Even as it got lighter out (I was going to say as the sun came up, but I can't prove that with all this fog), the fog still makes a nice effect for reading a cozy mystery.

I finally got around to some sewing yesterday.  I hemmed 2 skirts and 2 pants for work.

I like wearing skirts.  What I don't like is this new style of not wearing panty hose with skirts .  YUK.  I don't find that attrative at all.  I still wear pantyhose, especially to work, yet there are some that won't wear hose to work.  It's too casual to me.  They might as well wear shorts.

I like the long lengths, but -again for work - they don't look good on 5'3".  I appear shorter than I am.

My kitty watched for awhile, but got so bored she went to sleep.

Sunday morning Blog Hopping...

The Book Chick - ** she is giving away a Denise Austin book !!! - stop by and enter.

Lights, action

I've been busy making a bunch of are some quick shots I took of a few of them.  I want to get better shots for etsy though.

In Simple Abundance, we are learning we have the power within us to change our lives.   Easier said than done in this world.  Our homes, closets, desks are filled with 'stuff'.  We may love every single item but is there a cost ?  are we over-extended.  are we robbing our enjoyment of life over worrying about the money we need to pay for everything or how much we need to buy more.

The simpler we make our lives, the more abundant they become.
It is a challenge, who is up to it ?  I have looked around my belongings and I don't feel ready to box up or give away anything... yet.

Don't hold back

I've started Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach again this year.  Today's message really hits home.  She tells us not to hold back.  If you've got good china, use it.  don't you feel better when you fix your hair, dress a little nicer?  do we do that only for other people?

Enjoy each day.  Treat yourself as someone special you should look nice for.  Set the dinner table and light a candle and enjoy your meals as if each one were a special occasion.

Don't hold back on life waiting for the special occasion.  You are special every day, treat yourself as best as you can through this life's adventure.

It's a beautiful Snowy Day

A perfect day for playing with my beads.  That's my plan for today as soon as I have another cup of coffee and some breakfast.  I can't wait !
Here's my view from my computer desk.

We took down all the Christmas decorations last night.  I left up my snowflakes and put up Red and White fairy lights in my kitchen window.
soooo romantic.

I've been drinking my first morning coffee and doing some fun Sunday morning blog hopping.  Here's some fun new blogs I've found.

Hello 2010

I started the new decade a bit differently this year and found that there are a lot of people with nothing to do on the 1st of January.
I went shopping for new clothes for work.  Dillards had a 50% off sale for items that were already marked down.  So I purchased some beautiful pants and tops that I wouldn't normally buy.  $60 pants marked down to $40, I purchased for $20!!!  $40 tops for $10 - $15 !!!  The store was PACKED with people.  I bought 4 pants and 8 tops.  Now I can toss out some very worn out clothes and merge the new ones in with my usable ones and I'm good to go.  I don't plan on buying any work clothes for the rest of the year !! woohoo.

Today, I plan to play with my beads but as I approached my table I saw I had work to before play.

My actual 'work' area has been reduced to a very small square.  I'm going to have to clear off my table to start the new year off right.

Did you notice I have a new addition to my table guardians.  My crow now has a friend.

Two crows are better than one I always say.  They love to watch me play and take guard over all my shiny, sparkly beads.

My clay table isn't as messy, but I'll work on that too this weekend.

I've got lots of ideas for fun jewelry pieces.  I'm loaded with inspiration and creativity.  Now if only I can actually get my pieces to look like what I envision.  I know, practice, practice, practice.
