Missed again

It's another alphabet Wednesday and I've missed it fooey. I don't have my photo's ready!! is Wednesday right ? Having Monday off kinda of threw me off schedule. poor excuse. I missed the 'R's last week and I had TONS of photo's from Arizona of ROCKS! I had white rocks, black rocks and red rocks, and I had small ones and big ones ! This week I was going to use pics from Arizona still, I've got Sedona and Saguaro cacti. But I don't have my photo's ready to upload.

I've been so enthralled by the Etsy shop that I've been spending a lot of time there. I'm fascinated by all the items people are creating. I keep wanting to look at EVERYTHING. I'm opening up my own shop on Etsy to sell my jewelry and it's taking a lot of time to set up so I have to give up my photo play time for a bit. I hope to be caught up by next week.

Yes, I know.. Etsy.. another project ? like I need another project to keep me busy. I know. I know.

I'm back

It feels like longer than 9 days since I've been around. got back from Arizona safe and sound taking a detour through Newark airport to get home but we made it. I've got oogles of photo's that I just haven't processed yet. here's a few fun times.

Here we are in Sedona, we had lunch and shopped around a darling converted 'fort' with lots of artsy shops before hiking.
I love this shot of my daughter A with her fiance. It looks like she's wearing a crown of blue feathers - it's actually a gorgeous glass sculpture. (amazing that it's left outside in the elements).
We hiked everyday but these are from our hike in Sedona.
This is Bell Rock. We climbed up Bell Rock to feel the vortexes. The view from up high was fantastic.
It gets a bit scary after awhile. My crazy sis U kept climbing after I chickened out. What's been keeping me busy you ask ? well, I've been working on my jewelry piece for the Ohio Beaders Challenge. Once I complete it the piece I'll explain the challenge and show my work.

I've also been doing some late Spring cleaning. It's about time, the more I clean, the more mess and dust I see.

We made it to the plant nursery yesterday. I bought some perrenials for my back flower beds. I hope they grow so I can show all the pretty flowers I picked. Once they flower I'll take some pics and show them. and lots of annuals for my patio. I love lots ad lots of pots of flowers sitting around.

I missed my Sunday blog-hopping so I took some time before starting again on my cleaning binge and here is what I found.

Free Bird Sings
The House in the Roses ** one of my fav's today - if you have the time check out all her photo's on the right side of her blog.

It's sooo HOT

OK, 95 is HOT HOT HOT. but it feels great. We had frozen sangria with lunch today. YUM. We went hiking. when I have a bit more time, I'll put up some hiking pictures. The foothills here are really cool. no... hot, but cool.
This is my new grandbaby, his name is Rocky, 3 months old and growing fast. He's such a sweet puppy.

Vacation time

I'm OFF to Phoenix tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be blogging while I'm there journaling my wonderful fun trip. I'm bringing my camera so everyone can see my new grandbaby - a chocolate Lab named Rocky ! Oh, and my darling daughter too. It's already in the 3 digits there so I'll finally get to warm my bones from that loooong winter we had. I'm soooo excited.

I've even got my pooofy Cheetos packed and plenty of dark chocolate for the 4 hour plane trip AND a new book to read.
I've already read 20 of the 52 books from my A-Z reading challenge so I'm well on my way to finishing on schedule. I'm bringing a fun - no brainer - cozy mystery. Can't remember it right now because I'm so excited, but if it's any good I'll tell about it tomorrow.

Got a cortizone shot today in my elbow. Looks like I've got 'tennis elbow' probably from working too much. After 2 months I figured the pain was not going away on it's own so I broke down and called the doctor. Yep, a hurtful shot and no pain pills. what kind of doctor is that ?!?

Alphabet Wednesday

It's time for the letter 'Q' on Alphabet Wednesday at Mrs. Nesbitt's place.

This was a tough one for me. I didn't want to go for the normal Q's of Quarter and Quart size, but I did find a couple items I liked.

First are my Quartz stones that sparkle so pretty when the sun hits them.

The amber one turned out good, but my clear-white quartz was hard to photograph because it looks so liquid. It's a pretty stone with lots of angles.
These are Q-tips !

Yesterday truly felt like we made it out of winter. The patio table made it to the patio and the weather was pretty enough we could actually use it. It was great to relax and chat around the old table again. I even planted a rose bush and 2 perennials. The perennials shoot some spikey flowers up all summer - I'll have to go find their tags and save them so I know what I have. One plant is pink and one is blue. PLUS I planted my first dozen petunias - a whole mix of color, white, pink, red, salmon and purple !
My green beans started from seeds are ready to plant. If it rains all day today, I'll have to wait until I get back from Phoenix - so that will be 2 more weeks before planting them.
My tulips - which I planted in my herb garden last fall, are still strong and beautiful so I can't cut them down to plant my herbs yet.

I ALSO pulled all my summer clothes out of the basement and put all the winter clothes away.
The Moosehead Hook and Ladder Restaurant recently opened in our neighborhood so we ate dinner there yesterday. Since it's a converted old firestation, they kept with the firestation theme. Here's a couple photos. I should have taken an outside photo - their fountain is a leaky fire hydrant. It's really cute.

The Bar looks almost religious...

5 more days before I leave for PHOENIX ! ya! I can't wait to see my daughter again. Sis U is coming with me so the 3 of us will have a blast together. Sis A is welcome to join us if she want to, we are going out on Friday and returning on Tuesday.

While blog-hopping this morning I found this photo at The Party in Kai's Head and just HAD to copy it!Everywhere I stopped this morning, there was a tribute to mothers. Nothing caught my eye to share, so I'll just stop here and enjoy the day.

What a weekend!

I won two drawings this weekend! I'm sooooo excited!
The first drawing is from ModMom - I won Method earth-friendly bathroom products - I'm going GREEN !! by pure luck.

The second drawing is from The Primitive Gathering and I won a hand made needle roll! That will come in handy - I was searching for my beading needle yesterday and it turned up stuck to the kitchen timer magnet! maybe I won't lose my needles anymore. :)

I can't wait to get my gifts! I feel sooo lucky. If only those lottery tickets would work that way for me too .

Another Play Day

Sis U and I had a great time beading again yesterday. Not sure if you can see them in the photo, but there are 2 gin martini's on the table keeping us company !
G kept himself busy while keeping us company playing with his tools all day.
Here's just a couple things we completed.

a bracelet by U. a necklace by me

It is so pretty outside - not warm yet - only 52, but bright with sunshine. I can't sit still any longer. I'm going to dig a hole for my new rosebush.
so I don't have any blog-hopping links today. fiddle di dee, tomorrow's another day.

A Pirate Soiree !!!

Donna at the Ribboned Crown is hosting a Pirate Soiree. I just found out about it so I don't have time to plan for a big party, but you've GOT to see who attended. Donna has a whole list of people who joined in on the Soiree so you can check out all the blogs.

Make sure you go visit Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist , I had such a great time at her party!! Make sure you visit her pre-party post too, it's great fun too!

I usually do my blog hopping on Sunday morning, but since I took the day off yesterday I'm running a day ahead of schedule in everything this weekend. My laundry and weekend cooking are finished already ! I'm planning on re-organinzing a desk in my bead studio this morning, but I'm so glad I decided to blog hop first, I might have missed the party. I wonder what's in store for me tomorrow since I'm finishing up my errands so early ? I can wait -- I'm going back to the Pirate Souiree for more fun right now.

Stop by and visit A Musements and Du Buh Du Designs too.

It's still early in the day so many of the party's haven't started yet. I can't wait to come back and visit the rest of them.

Johnny makes an excellent Pirate, doesn't he ?? I adore him. In fact, talke about coincidence, last night we watched Benny and Joon - it's an old movie but nearly a classic. He is excellent in this movie ! well, when isn't he ?

Happy May Day !

and Beltane blessings for the rest.
Have you ever made a dream board ? This is my third one. There is something very magical about them.

My first one was small and I simply wished for a new computer, a new camera, beads and someone walking and words of peace. It wasn't long before everything on it showed up in my life.

My second dream board had a new car. After I got my car I realized the picture on the board was a HONDA - which is exactly what I ended up with and didn't even know that was what I was looking for. It also had a picture of the hills in Arizona - my daughter now lives there. There is more about running and eating/living in a healthy lifestyle.

Here is my third dream board. It has more beads and fabrics on it. more about fitness and healthy eating. I delved into the fabrics this last winter and made some fun stuff and I'm working on my beads still - even considering opening an Etsy shop online. I'm ready to start on my Fourth dream board. Have you started one?
