Are you ready for August 1 ?

August 1 is Lammas Day, (loaf-mass day), the festival of the first wheat harvest of the year. On this day it was customary to bring to church a loaf made from the new crop. Also traditionally observed as the Feast of First Fruits, a harvest festival. One of the Scottish quarter days.

So buy some fresh flour - make up a small loaf of bread and enjoy with some fresh veggies.

August 1 will also bring a new moon. The new moon is the birthing cycle of the moon's various phases. The new moon phase is an optimal time for planning and seeding your intentions. Setting aside a few minutes each month during the new moon phase to focus on yours wishes and desires will help give you clarity of mind and fill your heart with promise.

The saying "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it." is fair warning whenever setting your new moon intentions into motion. The moon is strong - your words are energy - energy moves matter. You are a powerful person through your thoughts and words.
The best time to make your list of wishes is in the first 8 hours of the new moon.

PLUS, talk about a day of strong energy -- there will be a solar eclipse on August 1 that will be a TOTAL eclipse of the sun with a magnitude of 1.039. I don't know what the magnitude means but it sounds serious. hang on to your hats! but don't look up.

EONS

It feels like I've been gone for eons and eons but it just boils down to a few weeks.
Our router was giving us a lot of trouble. We finally broke down and got a new one AND a battery backup since the old was was fried by too many power surges.

So I'm good to go :) and just in time for Alphabet Wednesday. We've started at the beginning again and actually on the letter B.
Here are my entries. If you would like to see more you can go here to ABC Wednesday.I've kept myself very busy in the meantime. Made a purse for myself - and working on a second one.

I've made some jewelry too but brought it up to the gift shop here in town instead of on Etsy this time. Photo's another day.

Hope all has been well in blogland. I've missed you all and can't wait to visit everyone.

Santa in July

If you double click on the picture you'll see the person better. I saw Santa while driving in my car. Good thing I had my camera handy ! He must be spending his summer vacation in Cleveland !

A Lurker

I have turned into quite the lurker lately. I love visiting all my favorite blogs and finding new ones off their fav's listings. Do you ever just not feel like leaving a message when you visit another blog? what? a mute blogger? yes, it's possible. I love summer and play so much by the time I'm on my blog, I'm just relaxing and tired out. so I lurk and smile and dream and have fun, but no one knows I'm there.

Maybe I'll just leave a Hi, Hello, good morning. it would be just like coming up on someone while riding my bike. A quick greeting just to know I see you, I appreciate you, it's nice to see a people smile back.

thanks to all my favorite bloggers for keeping me so well entertained when I don't feel like talking to anyone but want the company of friends.

Possibilities

Our neighbor was out shopping the other day, say this darling Troll and thought of us.
Isn't that sweet! isn't he darling! I've been considering names for him, so far Lance seems to fit the best. any better ideas ?
Then I went shopping and found a sale on fat quarters fabrics and couldn't resist all the wonderful colors. Imagine the possibilities ! I feel creative just looking at the fabrics. They could turn into purses, pouches, postcards, headbands, collars, wristlets... see what I mean. It's a shame I have to work to pay the bills ! I could be having fun all day, every day.

ditto on the beads...
of course I had to supply my addiction to beads !!

Happy 4th of July !

Finally, after what feels like MONTHS of rain, today turned out beautiful. I even got to have my coffee and breakfast out on the patio, it was so refreshing. The skies were clear and the wind was just about perfect for the fireworks display. It was so pleasant this evening, we were able to ride our bikes up to Lake Coe where they are set off. There were a lot more people this year, maybe because it was on a Friday night this time.

Alphabet Wednesday - "X"

It's Alphabet Wednesday at Mrs. Nesbitts place and we're on the letter X. X was a lot easier than I thought. Everywhere I looked I saw X's. the only word that actually started with X is this first one.... the others are imposters - but fun to see anyway.
If you want to see more X's go to Mrs. Nesbitt's place !
G's contribution -- the X-acto knife
The man himself wearing a souvenir shirt I brought him - he's never been to OBX.
These tracks are close to home, the first one is 1/4 mile away - a bit noisy when the windows are open in the summer.
These are about 1 mile from home going the other way. We are nearly surrounded by trains.
My favorite vacation on my wishboard - a cruise on Celebrity CruiseLine - the X is their logo.
9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 cuckoo
Yes, a bit overboard on the X's, but I can see all the X's in this, can you?one more, I saw X everywhere!
